Bookkeeper Remote | South Africa | R28,000/month Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced Bookkeeper to support a UK-based employer in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a South African professional who is organised, proactive, and confident working with UK teams remotely. Key Responsibilities Manage and support the recording of financial transactions, bank reconciliations, and ledger maintenance Handle accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, and expense tracking Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders across time zones Maintain accurate records of financial data, VAT submissions, and compliance documentation Use relevant tools such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms Support the wider team with month-end close, payroll preparation, and financial reporting Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping accuracy and financial process efficiency Qualifications and Experience 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a related field Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple financial tasks simultaneously Proficient in Xero, QuickBooks, or similar accounting software Able to work independently and manage your own time effectively High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving Experience working with UK-based financial environments or employers is advantageous Must have a reliable laptop, stable internet connection, and a quiet working environment Salary: R28,000/month | 100% Remote Locations South Africa Remote status Fully Remote About Remote Recruitment Remote Recruitment helps South African professionals secure flexible remote contract opportunities with UK companies, connecting independent contractors with businesses where they can thrive and make an impact.
