Bookkeeper

BOOKKEEPER – FULLY REMOTE (SOUTH AFRICA)

My client is a well-established Australian Chartered Accounting and Wealth Management firm looking to add a skilled Bookkeeper to their team. This is a fully remote, permanent position based in South Africa, working South African business hours.

ROLE DETAILS

• Location: Fully Remote – South Africa
• Hours: South African business hours
• Employment Type: Permanent
• Salary: R300,000 – R400,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain accurate financial records across multiple clients using Xero
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Prepare and post general journals and month-end adjustments
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Prepare financial reports and supporting documentation
• Maintain organised digital filing and document management
• Collaborate with the broader team to meet client deadlines

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Proven bookkeeping experience (minimum 3 years preferred)
• Proficient, hands-on Xero experience – this is a firm requirement
• Strong grasp of bookkeeping principles: journals, AP/AR, reconciliations
• Excellent client communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-starter who can manage their own workload independently
• Reliable internet connection and suitable home office setup
