Capture is looking for a Senior Data Science Product Manager with experience in building marketing and/or higher-ed data products. This fully remote position will work closely with the data science and engineering teams to build enrollment management predictive models and develop marketing budget allocation and pacing controls that enable higher education institutions to identify, convert, enroll, and retain best fit students. Such models will draw on data from on-campus sources, as well as online, email, search engine marketing, and online advertising channels. This position will require data science expertise, higher education domain knowledge, and great communication skills, in addition to creative thinking, a test & learn approach, and persistence to develop new methodologies for optimization that will work in a privacy-centric, cookie-less world. The Senior Data Science Product Manager is required to work effectively in a cross-functional environment to deliver high-quality products. They will work very closely with other product managers, sales, account executives, product marketing, and the engineering team. MUST-HAVES Extensive knowledge of Data Science and its usage to improve enrollment and advancement in Higher Education. Comfortable leading discussions with Higher Education Institutional leadership about strategic use of data science and predictive modeling. Great at verbal and written communication to convey customer requirements to internal stakeholders and working with the product developers to develop and enhance Predictive Models. NICE TO HAVES Experience with running marketing campaigns and measuring results of those campaigns. Experience with Agile development teams. WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING Defining and executing the performance optimization roadmap for Capture’s Behavior Intelligence Platform (BIP), including predictive models across applicant identification, enrollment, financial aid, and student success functions. Understanding the needs of customers, the various personas, and how they use web, email, search engine marketing, and online advertising channels for their enrollment and marketing goals. Gathering customer requirements, authoring product requirement documents, driving product development with data science, and engineering teams, assisting with product marketing, and providing pre-sales support and post-sales training while managing trade-offs and thoughtfully delivering solutions to complex problems. Interfacing with the client-facing teams to understand the business requirements and use cases. Defining and executing the product roadmap, success metrics and set expectations with all relevant stakeholders including engineering and internal leadership teams. Acting as product lead in agile development teams, including sprint grooming, planning, feature/bug prioritization, and requirement definition. Advocating and educating internal teams regarding new product features. Building relationships with customers to garner feedback for the development of product offerings. Presenting products to internal and external customers at a senior level. Being the visible advocate for your products internally and externally. Contributing to product, go-to-market, and corporate strategy. Defining and prioritizing user stories and product requirements for new features. Ensuring smooth release process, release notes, user documentation, and sales enablement. YOUR EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 5+ years of product management experience. Strong mathematical skills, familiarity with statistics and machine learning. Technical skills and demonstrated direct experience interacting with a technical audience, including software engineers and web developers. Must have shipped at least one product to market from inception. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage and collaborate with different groups and personalities to achieve progress. DESIRED: Experience in Marketing Technology and/or high-volume data transactional service. LOCATION This is a fully remote position , with the option to work in the office if desired.
