Company Description
Helonic is an AI-powered platform that detects discrepancies between construction drawings and project specifications, helping general contractors catch design issues before they turn into costly RFIs, delays, and rework. Our system analyzes drawing sets and spec books to surface conflicts, missing information, and inconsistencies early in preconstruction. Helonic integrates with industry tools like Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud and is backed by Y Combinator, with customers among leading general contractors across the United States.
Role Description
The Construction Issue Verifier is a full-time or part-time, fully remote position open to candidates outside the United States. In this role, you will review issues flagged by Helonic's AI system across construction drawings and specifications and verify each one before it reaches our customers.

• Reviewing AI-detected issues against the source drawings and specification sections to confirm accuracy and relevance.
• Classifying flagged issues as valid, invalid, or needing additional context, and documenting clear reasoning for each determination.
• Writing concise, professional issue descriptions suitable for customer-facing reports.
• Identifying patterns in false positives and missed issues, and providing structured feedback to the engineering team to improve detection accuracy.
• Helping refine internal review checklists, verification guidelines, and quality standards as the product evolves.
You will work closely with Helonic's founders and engineering team, and your judgment will directly shape both customer deliverables and the training of our detection models.
Qualifications
• Experience reading and interpreting construction documents, including architectural and structural drawings, specifications (CSI format), RFIs, and submittals.
• Strong understanding of how drawings and specs relate to each other, and the ability to spot conflicts, omissions, and inconsistencies between them.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to apply consistent judgment across a high volume of reviews.
• Strong written English communication skills for documenting issues clearly and professionally.
• Self-directed and reliable in a fully remote setting
• Background in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field; a degree or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Autodesk products is a plus.
• Prior experience in QA, document review, or data annotation for AI/ML systems is a plus, as is experience working with US-based construction projects or startups.
