The Supervisor — Critical Environment Cleaners holds full departmental accountability for all cleaning operations across one or more HPC data center buildings or campuses in West Texas. This role owns staffing, multi-shift scheduling, regulatory compliance, vendor contracts, budget management, SOP governance, and strategic workforce planning aligned with hyperscale campus expansion. The Supervisor is the departmental incident commander for contamination events and the primary internal contact for compliance audits, customer walk-throughs, and third-party inspections. Reporting to the Facilities Director or VP of Operations, this role sets the standard for contamination control excellence across the entire CEC department. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Operations Management, EHS, or Business preferred (7+ years equivalent experience may substitute) Minimum 5 years of experience in controlled-environment, data center, cleanroom, or critical facilities cleaning Minimum 2 years in a formal supervisory or management role with direct reports All Lead CEC certifications current and on file OSHA 30 General Industry —required HAZMAT/HAZWOPER 40-hour —required Confined Space Entry — Supervisor certification required SDS/Chemical Management training —required Background investigation and security clearance required PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ANSI/BICSI 002 Data Center Cleaning Protocol — advanced or instructor level PMP, SHRM-CP, or comparable project/people management credential Experience in a hyperscale, colocation, or HPC data center campus environment Demonstrated experience managing $1M+ departmental budgets First Aid / CPR / AED certification Familiarity with TCEQ regulations and Texas-specific environmental compliance requirements Experience with HRIS platforms for workforce and certification tracking Department Operations & Staffing Maintain full accountability for CEC department operations across all assigned buildings 24/7/365 Oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, disciplinary actions, and terminations for all CEC staff Design and maintain multi-shift scheduling models ensuring complete coverage with minimum overtime exposure Lead monthly staff meetings and conduct formal performance reviews on the established HR calendar Partner with HR on workforce planning, compensation adjustments, and internal promotion decisions SOP, Compliance & Regulatory Oversight Own the development, maintenance, and annual review of all department SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs Ensure department compliance with OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, and all applicable site-specific environmental standards Maintain OSHA 300/301 injury and illness logs; ensure all reportable incidents are documented and filed within required timelines Manage the department SDS library and ensure chemical compliance across all cleaning operations Serve as primary contact for internal audits, compliance inspections, and third-party certification reviews Incident Command & Quality Management Serve as departmental incident commander for contamination events, chemical spills, injuries, and safety near-misses Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) processes for all significant incidents Conduct regular unannounced quality control inspections of data hall cleaning operations Review and approve all incident reports, shift documentation, and compliance records before filing Budget & Vendor Management Develop and manage the annual CEC department budget including labor, supplies, equipment, and contract services Negotiate and manage contracts with cleaning supply vendors, equipment providers, and specialty contractors Track and report monthly budget variance to Facilities Director; proactively flag cost overruns Approve purchase orders for all department supply and equipment expenditures within authorized limits Training Program & TTT Governance Own the CEC Train-the-Trainer program including trainer nomination, certification, and quality oversight Ensure all certification deadlines are met for every CEC staff member and records are current in HRIS Oversee the department training budget and vendor relationships for external certifications Conduct annual review of training curriculum and update content to reflect regulatory and operational changes Stakeholder & Campus Coordination Serve as the CEC department's primary liaison with Data Center Operations, Facilities Management, and campus leadership Represent the CEC department in customer walk-throughs and third-party compliance inspections Align department staffing and capability plans with campus expansion milestones and building activation schedules Report department KPIs, staffing metrics, and compliance status to Facilities Director on a monthly cadence At IREN, we offer a comprehensive, market-competitive total rewards package designed to support employees’ well-being, career advancement, and financial wealth.
