Reporting to the Regional Manager, Staffing, the Regional Staffing Officer provides recruitment services for over 1,000 GN positions, based in the Qikiqtaaluk Region, by ensuring that the GN positions are staffed with qualified and effective employees; applying staffing principles and policies in a timely and cost- effective manner; providing procedural guidance to Human Resource Coordinators and management in client departments regarding methods of filling vacancies; and complying with the Public Service Act, collective agreements, GN guidelines, policies and regulations, Article 23 of the Nunavut land Claims Act and customer services standards.

- Recruitment and Staffing of Casual Positions and Summer Students
- Administration of Staffing Processes
- Support Services
- Improving Staffing Practices
- Other Duties as Assigned
This combination of knowledge, skills and abilities would normally be acquired through:
- Grade 12 education;
- At least 2 years of HR related experience;
- Diploma in an HR related field is an asset.
- Familiarity with human resources databases, software and systems (such as ePersonality) is an asset; and
- The ability to speak more than one of Nunavut’s official languages is an asset.
