About this role

Heavy Duty Mechanic. Description Working closely with the Fleet/Equipment Manager, the Heavy Duty Mobile Mechanic performs duties and tasks related to the preventative and corrective maintenance of a variety of construction equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate loves working with their hands, takes pride in their work and likes the challenge of figuring out how to make things work. What you will be doing: Inspect and test heavy equipment (bulldozers, cranes, graders, heavy trucks, etc.) to verify performance and detect faults Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic issues using computerized and manual testing tools Prioritize repairs, perform corrective and preventive maintenance, and replace/adjust defective components as needed Clean, lubricate and perform routine maintenance to ensure reliability and manufacturer-spec standard performance Service and repair attachments and tools (blades, ploughs, winches, side booms, harvesting/tillage equipment, etc) Evaluate parts for reuse or replacement and document work completed, parts used, and time spent in the shop system Maintain a safe, clean and organized shop environment and assist team members when required Travel occasionally to job sites to support field mechanics and collaborate with drivers/operators on prevention techniques Perform other related duties as assigned Relevant experience with heavy equipment Excellent diagnostic skills and technical aptitude Troubleshooting and decision-making Reading, writing and numeracy Works well with a team or independently Solid work ethic and safety-minded Strong English communication skills, both oral and written Proactive and resourceful Driving Licence TFWs International candidates are encouraged to apply Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) currently in Canada are accepted Labour Market Impact Assessment ( LMIA ) support is provided for eligible candidates to obtain a Canadian Work Permit $30/hour to start Shift (Monday to Thursday: 7:00AM to 04:30PM & Friday: 7:00AM to 03:30PM) Group Health & Dental Benefits RSP Tools supplied by the company (you can bring your own if you prefer) Boot Allowance Coveralls
