Volunteers are not authorized to provide psychotherapy, diagnosis, or any regulated mental health services.

Berbagi Cerita Indonesia was established in 2019 as an online storytelling and peer-support platform, rooted in the belief that every individual deserves a safe space to be heard. Over time, BCI evolved into a comprehensive digital mental health service ecosystem, offering counseling services, peer support, research initiatives, educational programs, and community-based mental health interventions. Guided by the slogan “Where Your Story Matters,” BCI has supported thousands of individuals and built a strong network of professionals, volunteers, and partners across Indonesia and beyond.

III. Program Overview

The Online Volunteer Program is a fully remote, experience-based volunteer initiative designed for individuals who are seeking practical exposure, skills development, and portfolio enhancement in the mental health and community well-being sector. The program provides structured volunteer placements where participants contribute to real projects while learning through guided practice, collaboration, and reflection.

All volunteer activities are conducted online, allowing flexibility and accessibility for participants based in the Philippines. The program emphasizes experiential learning, teamwork across borders, and ethical engagement in mental health–related initiatives. While volunteers gain valuable exposure to mental health programs, the initiative strictly maintains non-clinical boundaries and does not substitute licensed mental health practice.

Qualifications:

1. Registered Psychologist (RPsy) with an active PRC license. Applicants with an expired license may apply, provided they submit a statement confirming they are currently undergoing license renewal. Newly licensed psychologists are welcome to apply.
2. Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
3. Has a reliable internet connection and a capable device to participate in online activities.
4. Able to communicate in English and Filipino, both in writing and speaking.
5. Available and committed to a 4-month online volunteer program and willing to attend online training sessions via Zoom.

Job Descriptions:

1. Conduct online preparedness training for the Mental Health (MH) Support Team.
2. Serve as a resource speaker for online webinars and training sessions.
3. Provide referral counseling and other assessments from the MH Support Team if needed.
4. Provide monthly evaluations and guidance to the MH Support Team, assisting them in delivering basic mental health support and related services.
