Apply for this job here As a Technical Superintendent at BSM, you will be responsible for providing end-to-end technical and operational oversight of assigned vessels, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-efficient ship management. The role plays a critical part in connecting ship and shore by acting as the primary technical point of contact for vessels, clients, and external stakeholders, while supporting BSM’s strategic objectives, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of fleet performance. Key Responsibilities Deliver contractual ship management services in line with customer agreements, ensuring vessels meet required technical and operational standards Act as the primary technical contact for Masters and Chief Engineers, providing guidance on safety, maintenance, drydock planning, critical equipment, and non-routine repairs Maintain close communication with clients on technical, operational, and budgetary matters, building effective working relationships Monitor vessel machinery, equipment performance, and maintenance execution to enhance safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and operational performance Develop, implement, and monitor maintenance, repair, and drydocking plans, ensuring timely execution within approved budgets Prepare, control, and report technical and OPEX budgets for assigned vessels Ensure vessels maintain valid certification and comply with all applicable maritime legislation Plan, conduct, and follow up on vessel visits, inspections, audits, and surveys Coach, mentor, and support shipboard personnel, including performance reviews, interviews, and contribution to career development Qualifications & Experience Education & Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture or Minimum 3 years of sailing experience as Chief Engineer on Tanker Vessels 3 years as a Technical Superintendent within a ship management / owning company Skills & Competencies Leadership and people management skills with a coaching and mentoring mindset High level of organisation, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability Team-oriented, proactive, and safety-focused approach Fluency in English and solid computer literacy Why You Should Join Us!
