Role Overview
The Senior HR Manager will direct the organisation’s human resources’ function, ensuring all HR strategies, policies, and initiatives seamlessly align with Tarq’s mission and core values.
Steer the entire employee journey —encompassing strategic recruitment, regulatory compliance, talent development, and engagement programs—to cultivate a thriving, inclusive workplace culture that supports staff well-being and organisational growth.
Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to
Human Resource Planning & Policy Framework
- Lead the development, review, and implementation of HR policies, manuals, and SOPs (Leave Policy, Code of Conduct, POSH, etc.) ensuring best practices and compliance.
- Drive organisational adherence to statutory compliances related to employment, compensation, and workplace safety.
- Oversee maintenance and periodic audits of employee documentation and records as per legal and organisational requirements.
- Partner with legal, finance, and leadership teams to ensure seamless alignment across HR operations, contracts, and compliance frameworks.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Strategically manage end-to-end recruitment, ensuring talent acquisition aligns with organisational growth plans.
- Build and sustain partnerships with universities, hiring platforms, and professional networks for proactive talent outreach.
- Design and oversee onboarding and induction programs that embed Tarq’s culture, values, and systems.
Performance Management & Professional Development
- Architect and implement performance evaluation frameworks, KRAs, and review systems that drive accountability and excellence.
- Lead mid-year and annual appraisal processes in collaboration with department heads and founders.
- Identify organisational learning needs and design structured L&D programs including trainings, workshops, and mentorship initiatives.
- Establish succession planning frameworks to ensure leadership continuity and employee growth.
Employee Engagement & Culture Building
- Foster an inclusive, transparent, and collaborative work environment aligned with Tarq’s values of empathy, efficiency, and excellence.
- Conceptualize and execute employee engagement, recognition, and well-being initiatives.
- Strengthen grievance redressal and conflict resolution mechanisms, ensuring trust and fairness.
- Enhance internal communication systems to reinforce Tarq’s mission, updates, and values across all levels.
HR Operations & Administration
- Oversee attendance, leave management, and payroll coordination with the finance team.
- Ensure HR databases, contracts, and records are digitized and maintained securely via HRMS/Notion dashboards.
- Supervise reimbursements, travel claims, and consultant/vendor documentation in alignment with finance protocols.
- Safeguard confidentiality and data security of employee and organisational information.
Strategic HR & Organisational Development
- Act as a strategic partner to Founders and Leadership Team, aligning people systems with Tarq’s long-term objectives.
- Recommend and implement initiatives to enhance organisational efficiency, employee experience, and retention.
- Lead workforce planning, role clarity, and resourcing strategies across departments.
- Contribute to Tarq’s employer branding, internal communications, and thought leadership efforts.
Leadership & Representation
- Mentor and guide HR team members, fostering professional growth and capability building.
- Represent Tarq in external forums, reviews, and stakeholder meetings relevant to HR functions.
- Take ownership of special projects and organisational initiatives as assigned by management, ensuring delivery excellence.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in non-profits preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in policy development, compliance, and strategic HR initiatives.
- Expert in labour law compliance, statutory requirements, and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
