About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Business Licensing & Tax Compliance Specialist to manage licensing and regulatory compliance for short-term rental properties across multiple U.S. states.
This role focuses on filing business licenses for Airbnb/BNB properties, researching municipal requirements, coordinating with local government offices, and supporting tax-related compliance processes. The ideal candidate has experience handling short-term rental licensing from start to finish and is comfortable navigating regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- File business licenses for short-term rental properties across multiple U.S. states
- Research municipal licensing requirements, zoning rules, and compliance regulations for Airbnb/BNB operations
- Complete, prepare, and submit business license applications and related regulatory forms
- Communicate with municipal offices, government representatives, and regulatory agencies regarding licensing requirements and approvals
- Coordinate tax-related compliance requirements for short-term rental properties
- Work alongside consulting firms such as Avalara regarding tax guidance, registration, and compliance matters
- Manage business licensing and compliance processes from start to finish for multiple Airbnb/BNB properties
- Organize and maintain accurate records of licensing applications, approvals, renewals, and regulatory documentation
- Support business tax filing processes related to short-term rental operations
- Monitor renewal deadlines and ensure ongoing compliance with state and municipal regulations
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience filing business licenses for short-term rental properties
- Ability to research and manage licensing requirements across multiple U.S. states and jurisdictions
- Experience completing and submitting regulatory applications, forms, and compliance documentation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with municipal offices and government personnel
- Ability to independently manage licensing and compliance processes from start to finish
- Understanding of tax requirements related to short-term rental properties
- Experience coordinating with tax consulting firms regarding compliance matters
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within the U.S. legal system as a paralegal or legal support professional
- Prior experience handling business taxes for short-term rental properties
- Experience working with Avalara or similar tax consulting/compliance firms
- Familiarity with Airbnb/BNB licensing and compliance workflows
- Experience managing licensing and compliance across multiple properties or jurisdictions
- Knowledge of short-term rental regulations, occupancy taxes, and local permitting requirements

Successful candidates for this role will be rewarded with the following benefits:
- A total of five paid vacation days per year (additional days can be taken unpaid).
- A 5% raise per year guaranteed (additional raises or bonuses may be given for outstanding performance).
- A paid 15-minute break for every 4 hours of work.
- Healthcare benefits after 2 months of full-time work.
- Vacation days increase by 1 vacation day per year. I.e. after one year of employment, the total paid vacation days on year 2 would be six, on year 3 seven, etc.
