ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) - Remote U.S. Role Overview Templar Shield is seeking a ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) to provide enterprise architecture leadership and advisory services for clients operating in critical infrastructure and highly regulated industries. This role sits above delivery execution and focuses on enterprise architecture strategy, platform governance, asset intelligence, and long-term roadmap design across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HAM, SAM, EAM, and AI asset governance—enabling durable Security Operations, Integrated Risk Management, and AI Governance programs. The CMA acts as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, regulators, and internal architecture teams. Primary Responsibilities Enterprise Architecture & Strategic Advisory • Define enterprise-wide ServiceNow architecture strategies aligned to business, regulatory, and security objectives. • Advise clients on platform operating models, governance structures, and multi-year ServiceNow roadmaps. • Ensure architectural alignment across IT, OT, AI, security, risk, and compliance domains. • Evaluate and rationalize existing architectures, integrations, and asset models. Asset-Centric Governance Strategy • Establish enterprise asset management strategies spanning IT, OT, cloud, SaaS, and AI systems. • Define architectural patterns for asset lifecycle, ownership, criticality, and dependency management. • Ensure asset intelligence directly supports IRM, SecOps, operational resilience, and AI governance outcomes. • Guide clients in building defensible asset inventories suitable for audits, regulators, and insurers. Security, Risk & AI Governance Leadership • Architect governance-first approaches to: o Security Operations enablement o Enterprise and operational risk management o AI system inventory, oversight, and control • Ensure ServiceNow architectures align with NIST, critical infrastructure regulations, and emerging AI governance expectations. • Advise on data lineage, explainability, and evidence requirements for AI and automated decision systems. Platform Governance & Oversight • Define architectural standards, guardrails, and design principles for ServiceNow environments. • Review and approve solution architectures across programs and delivery teams. • Mentor CTAs, architects, and senior technical leaders. • Act as escalation authority for architectural risk, platform decisions, and regulatory concerns. Candidates will also be asked to support Templar Shield in business development, technical solutions sales, and overall growth of the practice areas. • Support internal sales and client account teams in identifying IRM opportunities. • Support in the creation of proposals, effort, and cost estimates and submit responses to Request for Proposals (RFP's). • Assist in sales pursuits and proposals and assist growing Templar Shield practice areas. • Create a positive working environment by helping to manage workloads of the team balancing client expectations with the work-life quality of team members. • Enhance established Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and or Agile method for design and development various security operations solutions on the IRM platform to ensure all efforts are coordinated and controlled. Requirements Required Qualifications ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) – required. 12+ years of ServiceNow experience with enterprise-scale architecture Demonstrated leadership in enterprise architecture, platform governance, and multi-domain integration. Experience advising executives and regulators in critical infrastructure or highly regulated sectors. Strong understanding of ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HAM, SAM, and EAM as architectural building blocks. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency; onshore-only engagement capability. Willing to travel up to 50% Preferred / Nice-to-Have • Background in OT environments, industrial systems, or critical infrastructure operations. • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, model lifecycle management, or AI risk controls. • Experience designing architectures to support NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF, NERC CIP, DORA, or similar frameworks. • Experience serving as enterprise or chief architect in large-scale transformations.
