Your role within the team This role is responsible for leading the development, execution, and optimization of integrated media strategies that drive brand growth, household penetration, and business performance across the portfolio of our pet brands. This role serves as a strategic partner to Brand Marketing, Sales, Insights, eCommerce and Omni Digital to ensure media investments deliver measurable outcomes throughout the consumer journey. The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in media planning and performance measurement with strong business acumen, leadership skills, and an understanding of the evolving FMCG landscape across retail, digital, traditional, and social commerce channels. Duties and responsibilities Lead the development of integrated media strategies that align brand objectives with commercial goals across retail, marketplace, quick commerce, and social commerce channels. Develop annual and campaign-specific media plans that balance upper-funnel brand building with lower-funnel conversion and sales objectives, including direct-to-consumer (brand.com) performance media. Create audience-first media strategies that drive consumer engagement and conversion throughout the path to purchase. Ensure media investments are aligned to business priorities, product launches, innovation initiatives, seasonal programs, and retailer activation plans. Develop integrated commerce media strategies across: Retail Media Networks, Amazon Advertising (including Sponsored Ads, Amazon DSP, and Amazon Marketing Cloud), Chewy Advertising, Quick Commerce platforms (e.g., Instacart, DoorDash, etc.), and Social Commerce platforms, including TikTok Shop and emerging commerce ecosystems Identify opportunities to improve discoverability, conversion, and customer acquisition across commerce platforms. Partner with content and ecommerce teams on digital shelf excellence, including PDP content, ratings and reviews, share of search, and organic discoverability. Collaborate with marketplace teams to support sales growth, share gains, and new customer acquisition. Ensure alignment between marketplace media, retailer activation, and broader brand campaigns. Develop strategies that leverage social platforms as both media and commerce channels. Partner with social and content teams to drive conversion-oriented campaigns across TikTok Shop and emerging social commerce platforms. Evaluate new commerce opportunities, technologies, creators, and platform capabilities. Recommend test-and-learn initiatives to drive innovation and competitive advantage, including AI-enabled media planning, creative optimization, and bidding tools. Manage and optimize media investment across brand, retail, marketplace, and commerce channels. Partner with agency teams to develop channel allocation recommendations and maximize return on investment. Conduct ongoing performance reviews and optimization analyses to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Evaluate media mix and investment shifts based on business performance and marketplace dynamics. Establish a unified measurement framework spanning marketing mix modeling, incrementality testing, multi-touch attribution, and clean room analytics; define KPIs and build standardized reporting dashboards for leadership. Monitor competitive media activity and share of voice to inform investment and channel decisions. Develop and maintain first-party data and audience strategies in collaboration with CRM and DTC teams Translate complex performance data into actionable business recommendations. Influence senior stakeholders on investment decisions and media priorities. Ensure alignment between national media programs and customer-specific activation plans. Present media strategies, performance results, and recommendations to executive leadership. Coach and develop team where necessary. Desired Skills and Experience 8–12 years of experience in media strategy, digital marketing, commerce media, or integrated communications. 3+ years of people management experience. Deep understanding of Retail Media Networks, Amazon Advertising (hands-on familiarity with Amazon DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud, Chewy Advertising, Quick Commerce media ecosystems. Social Commerce platforms, including TikTok Shop. Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic, Video, and Connected TV, and Retail media self-service platforms and digital shelf analytics tools (e.g., Stackline, or similar) Experience with traditional and offline media channels (OOH, audio, linear) is a plus. Experience managing multi-million-dollar media budgets and agency relationships. Experience running agency reviews, scopes of work, and performance-based agency compensation models is a plus. Experience working within a CPG environment with omnichannel retail distribution. Experience partnering directly with major retailers and marketplace platforms. Ability to connect media investment decisions to sales growth and business outcomes. Strong understanding of omnichannel consumer and shopper behavior. Expertise in media performance measurement, attribution, and optimization. Strong financial acumen and budget management skills. Strategic thinker and hands-on executor with a test-and-learn mindset.
