Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive People, Culture & Capability (PCC) Manager to lead and manage the entire people function for our growing Australian business. This is a standalone role suited for a senior HR professional who can operate strategically as a trusted business partner while remaining hands-on with day-to-day HR operations.
The successful candidate will partner closely with leadership to drive people initiatives, ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, support organizational growth, manage recruitment activities, and champion a positive employee experience.
This role will also lead the implementation, configuration, administration, and ongoing optimization of Employment Hero, becoming the organization's subject matter expert and primary point of contact for all HRIS-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Business Partnering
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on all people-related matters.
- Provide strategic and operational HR guidance aligned with business objectives.
- Partner with managers to support workforce planning, employee engagement, performance, and organizational effectiveness.
- Develop initiatives that foster a high-performance and values-driven culture.
People Operations
- Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance management, employee development, and offboarding.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices remain compliant and effective.
- Provide advice and support on employee relations matters, including difficult conversations, performance concerns, disciplinary processes, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Manage leave administration and employee benefits in accordance with Australian employment standards.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Lead full-cycle recruitment activities across the business.
- Partner with hiring managers to identify talent needs and workforce requirements.
- Source, screen, interview, and coordinate hiring processes.
- Develop recruitment strategies that attract high-quality talent within the Australian market.
Performance Management & Employee Development
- Drive performance management frameworks and review processes.
- Support managers in setting goals, providing feedback, and managing performance concerns.
- Identify training and development opportunities that strengthen organizational capability.
- Implement initiatives that support employee growth, engagement, and retention.
HR Compliance & Employment Relations
- Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, Fair Work requirements, workplace policies, and HR best practices.
- Review, update, and develop HR policies and procedures.
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend appropriate organizational actions.
- Support workplace investigations and employee relations matters as required.
HRIS Implementation & Management (Employment Hero)
- Lead the implementation and configuration of Employment Hero.
- Develop HRIS processes, workflows, templates, and reporting capabilities.
- Train managers and employees on system usage and best practices.
- Act as the organization's primary Employment Hero expert and ongoing support resource.
- Drive continuous improvement and adoption of HR technology across the business.
Reporting & Analytics
- Develop and maintain HR metrics and reporting dashboards.
- Provide regular insights and recommendations to leadership on workforce trends, engagement, turnover, recruitment, and performance.
- Use data to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience.
- Proven experience in a standalone HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or Senior HR Generalist role.
- Previous experience supporting Australian organizations.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian Employment Law, Fair Work regulations, National Employment Standards (NES), Modern Awards, and HR compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary processes, workplace investigations, and difficult employee conversations.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end recruitment within the Australian market.
- Experience developing, reviewing, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Experience managing leave, employee benefits, and HR administration in accordance with Australian employment standards.
- Experience implementing, configuring, and administering HRIS platforms.
- Ability to work autonomously and confidently manage the entire people function with minimal supervision.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, coaching, and influencing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
