Position Summary
The Marketing Coordinator (Copywriting & Editing) at the Gary Sinise Foundation plays a key role in shaping and maintaining the Foundation’s voice across all communications. This position is responsible for writing, editing, and refining content that clearly, consistently, and compellingly communicates the mission of serving our nation’s defenders, veterans, first responders, and their families.
This role supports a wide range of initiatives, including donor communications, marketing campaigns, digital content, internal messaging, and program storytelling. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and editor who can adapt tone across audiences while ensuring all content reflects the Foundation’s values of gratitude, humility, and service.
Key Responsibilities:
Copywriting & Content Development
- Write and edit compelling content across multiple channels, including email campaigns, website copy, social media, press materials, donor communications and grant requests
- Draft and refine messaging for fundraising campaigns, events, and program initiatives
- Develop clear, mission-driven narratives that highlight the impact of the Foundation’s work
Editing & Quality Control
- Serve as a primary editor for internal and external communications to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand voice
- Proofread and edit content for grammar, tone, accuracy, and alignment with GSF standards
- Maintain and help enforce editorial guidelines and messaging consistency across teams
Brand Voice & Messaging
- Uphold and strengthen the Gary Sinise Foundation’s voice across all communications
- Ensure messaging reflects the Foundation’s values of gratitude, humility, and respect for those we serve
- Collaborate with team members to refine messaging for different audiences while maintaining brand integrity
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Assist Marketing & Communications Team in their work with Philanthropy, Programs, and Leadership teams to gather information and translate it into clear, compelling communications
- Support integrated campaigns by aligning messaging across platforms and departments
- Assist in coordinating content needs and timelines across multiple stakeholders
Campaign & Content Support
- Support the execution of marketing campaigns, including drafting content, reviewing assets, and ensuring timely delivery
- Assist in planning and organizing content calendars and communications schedules
- Contribute to storytelling efforts that highlight program impact and beneficiary experiences
Skills
- Produces clear, concise, and compelling content with exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Adapts tone, style, and messaging effectively for diverse audiences and communication platforms.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on writing and editing.
Work Environment
- This is a remote role with standard work hours of 8am-5pm CDT; flexible hours may be required for events.
- Some travel (up to 10%) may be necessary, with occasional nights and weekends.
