As Tenning continues to expand its audience development, event marketing, and community offerings, we are seeking a Freelance Event Marketing & Audience Manager to support multiple client engagements and owned-event initiatives across 2H of 2026.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the intersection of audience growth, event marketing, ticket sales, and community engagement. This candidate should be equally comfortable managing strategy, execution, and client relationships.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Freelance Event Marketing & Audience Manager will work closely with Tenning's SVP, Event Marketing & Audience Strategy to support the planning, execution, and optimization of audience acquisition and event marketing campaigns across client experiences.

This role sits at the center of audience growth and event performance. The successful candidate will help manage marketing milestones, track ticketing benchmarks, oversee paid media campaigns, coordinate audience acquisition efforts, and serve as a day-to-day client-facing partner.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, data-driven, proactive, and comfortable operating across multiple projects simultaneously. They understand how event marketing campaigns are built, measured, and optimized, and are passionate about connecting the right audiences with meaningful experiences.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The ideal candidate is:

• An audience marketer who understands how to attract, engage, and convert event audiences.
• Experienced managing event marketing campaigns, ticket sales initiatives, and audience acquisition programs.
• Comfortable balancing both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
• Highly organized with exceptional project management skills and attention to detail.
• Data-driven and confident interpreting campaign performance metrics.
• Experienced managing multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and client relationships simultaneously.
• A strong communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-moving environments.
• Proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in event marketing, audience development, community growth, event operations, or related disciplines.
• Proven experience supporting event marketing campaigns with measurable registration or attendance goals.
• Experience overseeing paid media campaigns and working with agency partners.
• Strong understanding of ticketing, audience acquisition, CRM, and marketing automation platforms.
• Experience managing client relationships and presenting performance updates to stakeholders.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with reporting and performance tracking tools.
• Experience working across conferences, festivals, summits, media events, or professional communities is strongly preferred.

CONTRACT DETAILS

• Freelance contract position
• Term: July 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026
• Remote, with availability during East Coast business hours required
• Candidate must be based in the Eastern Time Zone
• Occasional travel may be required for client meetings and events
