As a Head of Region for Maternity and Newborn Investigations , you’ll help improve safety for women, babies and families by leading investigation work that drives learning across the healthcare system. Picture this The key responsibility of the post holder is to provide leadership for your region consisting of team leaders and maternity investigators, supporting them to deliver high quality, timely investigations. As a Head of Region for Maternity and Newborn Investigations, you might: Lead regional delivery of independent investigations that uncover the causes of serious Maternity and Newborn incidents and inform improvements at local and national level. Lead projects within the MNSI programme that supports its strategic objectives Work with partners across England to strengthen investigation practice and build capability so healthcare teams can learn and improve together. The role Your insight and leadership will influence what we do and how we do it. In this role, you’ll: Lead regional teams: Provide leadership and support in line with our vision, mission and values to Maternity and Newborn Investigation Team Leaders, helping them and their teams deliver high-quality investigations and meet key priorities. Support delivery of MNSI strategic objectives: provide support and oversight of projects and pieces of work to enable delivery of our strategic objectives Build partnerships and influence improvement: Work with healthcare organisations, national bodies and senior colleagues to share learning and improve maternity and newborn safety across the system. Show us We will be looking for specific skills, knowledge and experience in your application form: Lead and support healthcare teams: Experience managing or supporting senior clinical or operational teams, including guiding performance and helping teams deliver work to agreed timelines. Apply investigation and healthcare knowledge: Experience working in the NHS or wider healthcare system, with a clear understanding of safety investigation processes and how findings lead to service improvement. Communicate complex information clearly: Experience presenting findings, reports or recommendations to a range of audiences, including senior leaders, in a clear and structured way.
