Hundred Star Games is an independent video game developer based in Hackney Wick, East London, founded by Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill, previous founders of Rocksteady and the creative leadership team of Rocksteady’s Batman Arkham series. Growing to a maximum of 100 people over the next few years, we’re doing things differently at Hundred Star, so we can focus on making great games and building meaningful connections with those we work with. We’re looking for a Expert Asset Artist to join our growing studio and make a significant contribution to the development of visually stunning and immersive worlds for our video games. In this role, you will work closely with all creative departments but mainly with our Character and Environment team, focusing on delivering content which matches the standard of work and immersion we strive for when fleshing out our world in game. We’re a hybrid studio, with everyone working in studio Tuesday through Thursday, with Mondays and Fridays open to WFH within the UK. In this role you will: Will work closely with the project leadership team, Art Director and art team to deliver content to the aesthetic and technical standards for our project. Drive innovation within art, assessing pipelines and pushing for excellence. Responsible for asset organisation and standardization across multiple applications, ensuring assets integrated adhere to technical standards and performance guidelines. Creation of 3D blockout assets, alongside associated style and brief documentation. Implementation of assets from external sources, set up of assets in engine (materials, mesh settings, LODs, etc and final asset polish Contribute and be a vocal member of the project team, identify problems within the implementation pipeline, offering feedback to engineers and technical artists to help improve tools and processes. In time, lead a team of internal and external artists, providing guidance and feedback to ensure artistic consistency and quality. Implement and refine production pipelines, while fostering an environment of growth and collaboration. What we’re looking for: An understanding of the importance of gameplay and building artwork that enhances the players experience through form and functionality. Knowledge working with UE5, the material system, blueprints and mesh pipelines. Experienced in handling asset migration across different DCC tools. Interest in defining and building pipelines from a content creation point of view, working, and collaborating with various disciplines to ensure success and scalability in this area. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem solving and organisational skills. Familiarity working with external teams; reviewing and aiding in the transition of art content through engine pipelines. Experience creating photoreal assets; from concept or reference to Final Quality. Demonstrable experience modelling, sculpting, texturing, lighting, materials, PBR techniques.
