Data Engineer - Market Risk

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will support and develop market risk applications for one top financial institution in US. You will join a global team of professionals providing services to major clients in the financial industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Write database code using SQL, as well as Python scripts independently.
• Provide support for market risk applications, including monitoring, incident resolution, and problem management.
• Manage data pipelines and scheduled jobs.
• Handle business-critical incidents, including stakeholder communication and post-incident reviews.
• Document operational procedures, workflows, and technical solutions.

Core Competencies

• Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote global team.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in IT with more than 2 years in financial projects (preferably in Market Risk area).
• Strong experience in SQL and database programming (preferably MS SQL Server).
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT and DWH concepts with hands on experience using ETL/ELT tools; SSIS a plus.
• Working experience with Python; Databricks and ADF a plus.
• Experience with Job Scheduling/Automation tools.
• Strong testing and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence tools and Git change management.
