Position Summary Provide advanced Customs valuation and Harmonized System (HS) classification expertise to support and continuously improve AI-driven decision systems. The role focuses on reviewing complex cases, validating automated decisions, and delivering structured expert feedback to enhance AI accuracy, consistency, and compliance. Key responsibilities Analyze complex or high-risk trade transactions requiring expert judgment Provide well-justified decisions on HS classification and customs valuation Apply international standards (WCO HS framework, WTO Valuation Agreement) Document clear and structured reasoning for consistency and reuse Review and validate AI-generated classification and valuation outcomes Identify errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in AI reasoning or evidence Provide structured feedback to improve AI models, datasets, and logic Highlight recurring issues and support continuous improvement Assess relevance and comparability of valuation/classification evidence Ensure alignment between product description, evidence, and regulations Identify edge cases and limitations of AI performance Qualifications Strong knowledge of HS Classification (GRI, Explanatory Notes) Strong knowledge of WTO Customs Valuation methodologies Understanding of international trade practices and documentation Ability to interpret and challenge AI-generated outputs Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with structured data or AI-supported systems is a plus Proven experience in customs valuation and/or HS classification Experience handling complex or disputed cases Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience Fluent in English (mandatory) French is a strong advantage KEY COMPETENCIES Expert judgment and regulatory interpretation Strong reasoning and attention to detail Ability to structure knowledge into reusable logic Continuous improvement mindset Benefits Equal opportunity advocacy: We promote equality, creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
