We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive project-based Production Advisor to conduct agency fee and production reviews, oversee production-related financials, manage client relationships, and ensure seamless project reporting. This role combines production expertise with strong account management skills to support motion, still, and digital campaigns across multiple clients. Advisor must be capable of representing APR in 1:1 conversations in Japanese with local, senior agency, and client partners. The Consultant, Integrated, will utilize their extensive experience in video production and agency fee structures in the Japanese market to manage advertising production across broadcast, online video, social content, and both long- and short-form formats, scripted and unscripted, working with multiple creative partners. The candidate is fluent in Japanese and English, with proven knowledge and experience in still photography and video production, experience working with production houses in Japan, agency resource rates and production cost evaluations. DEFINING SUCCESS FOR THIS ROLE This position will be successful if they can demonstrate the following objectives and performance targets: Manage advertising production cost reviews across all formats, ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and risk mitigation while leveraging deep knowledge of Japanese market practices. Foster strong client and agency partnerships, facilitate clear communication, and resolve process issues with impactful solutions. Drive savings through APR methodologies, oversee accurate reporting and data entry, and share insights to elevate team and client expertise. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This position’s key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Manage day-to-day client/agency interactions and keep senior team members informed. Identify and resolve project issues; enforce client policies, guidelines, and best practices. Act as liaison between agency and client; kick off projects and attend key meetings. Provide executional ballparks, identify opportunities to repurpose assets, and vet vendors for quality and value. Collect, review, and analyze bids, treatments, and schedules; provide feedback and negotiate for best value. Align scope, budget, and specifications; confirm accuracy and communicate costs and APR-derived benefits to clients. Monitor projects through all phases (pre-production, production, post-production), track changes, and prevent overages. Capture savings, process issues, and solutions; contribute to project summaries and reports. Maintain documentation for data entry and participate in awards and project closeout. Ensure all production estimates, bids, and invoices align with internal guidelines and industry standards. Communicate project updates, timelines, and deliverables in a clear and timely manner. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure client expectations are met. Support client relationships, foster transparent communication, and help achieve business objectives. Track and report all project progress in accordance with the Japan methodology. Provide timely updates to senior management on project performance and key milestones. Prepare and review summary reports; contribute to project roll-ups and quarterly/annual reporting. Track project work hours in Deltek and monitor compliance with processes. ABOUT YOU 10+ years in advertising production, including TV commercials (Line/Executive Producer roles). Fluent in Japanese and English, both written and verbal. Ideally worked with or for a Japanese creative agency with experience still and video shoots. Strong knowledge of video production, agency fee structures, and bidding; experience across client, agency, and vendor environments from ideally having worked in agency networks in Japan. Experience in production, account management, or related fields (advertising, creative agencies, content production). Strong understanding of production processes for motion and still campaigns. Excellent communication - written and verbal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail. Collaborative, diplomatic, and influential Tech-savvy with proficiency in MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, Zoom, and Google tools. Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.
