Role Overview:
We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a Autodesk Inventor Specialist to work on a contract basis. In this role you will apply deep expertise in 3‑D modeling to shape the data that trains next‑generation AI systems. Your designs will be used by AI labs and enterprises to improve how models understand engineering concepts, making the work of future autonomous agents more reliable. The position blends traditional product development with cutting‑edge AI training pipelines, offering a unique bridge between hands‑on design and advanced technology.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, modify, and optimize 3‑D models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor for manufacturing and product development projects.
• Translate conceptual sketches and specifications into detailed technical drawings, bill of materials, and prototype files that meet industry standards.
• Analyze design challenges, conduct feasibility studies, and recommend inventive solutions to enhance functionality, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
• Ensure all design documentation, schematics, and revision histories comply with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Provide mentorship and technical support to peers and junior designers, fostering best practices in modeling, simulation, and data preparation for AI training.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Minimum five years of professional experience creating complex assemblies and parts in Autodesk Inventor, with a portfolio that demonstrates end‑to‑end product development.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, GD&T, and material properties to inform realistic and manufacturable designs.
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, product managers, and data scientists, to align design outputs with AI training objectives.
• Experience preparing high‑quality design data for machine learning pipelines, such as exporting neutral file formats, annotating geometry, and ensuring data consistency.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate design rationales, provide constructive feedback in design reviews, and document technical decisions clearly.
More About the Opportunity:
This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a global leader in the engineering and AI integration space. The contractor will contribute directly to the creation of training data that influences how AI models reason about mechanical systems, providing tangible impact on products used across finance, healthcare, and industrial sectors. The position provides exposure to a diverse network of domain experts and AI researchers, enabling professional growth at the intersection of traditional engineering and emerging intelligent technologies.
Equal Opportunity Employer:
We hire based on skills and expertise. All qualified candidates are welcome regardless of background, experience, or prior employment history. Applications are reviewed solely on demonstrated technical ability and qualifications.
