About The Role
The Account Manager role at Spar Group is a vital position responsible for expanding our prepaid channel by acquiring new retailer partners and driving sales within designated regions, including the North Shore, Montreal, and Quebec City. This position primarily focuses on promoting and growing Koodo prepaid products, while also providing partners with comprehensive knowledge about other TELUS offerings. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategic territory plans, cultivate strong customer relationships, and deliver exceptional product support to ensure growth and brand representation. Residing in Quebec and being fully bilingual in English and French are essential for engaging effectively with local partners and customers. The role offers an exciting opportunity to influence market expansion, enhance customer experience, and contribute to the company's overall sales objectives through proactive engagement and strategic planning.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a university degree or college diploma, demonstrating a solid educational foundation. A minimum of two years of experience in territory management or sales management within the wireless or retail channel is required. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle to facilitate regional travel. Strong prospecting, closing, and relationship-building skills are essential, along with proven success in exceeding sales targets. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with effective communication skills, are necessary to succeed in this role. Knowledge of the Canadian wireless market and proficiency with Google Suite are considered assets. The candidate should be self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently from a home-based office, with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Grow TELUS distribution channels by acquiring new retailer partners through cold-calling, referrals, and outreach activities.
- Educate channel partners on TELUS' value proposition to ensure awareness and top-of-mind recognition of TELUS products and services.
- Provide reliable sales support by maintaining high responsiveness, leveraging relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service to partners.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan to service assigned locations efficiently, maximizing sales opportunities and achieving transaction targets.
- Ensure the TELUS brand is well represented at all partner locations, maintaining merchandising standards and brand integrity.
- Gather competitive market intelligence and report findings to internal teams to inform strategic decisions.
- Coordinate with internal groups such as Marketing, Operations, and Go-to-Market teams through effective communication, training, and coaching of retailer partners on new or updated products related to Koodo prepaid.
- Recommend and implement performance improvement initiatives, sharing best practices to enhance sales, quality, and operational efficiency.
