Role Overview
As a 3D Artist at Hane Studios, you will be responsible for creating realistic game-ready assets from reference to final delivery. You will work directly with our Creative Directors and Lead 3D Artists, following established production standards and artistic guidelines. Every asset produced at Hane Studios undergoes an internal review process before approval, making attention to detail and quality consistency essential.
This role is intended for artists who already have practical production experience and understand how modern AAA assets are built, optimized, textured, and prepared for real-time applications.
Responsibilities
Asset Production
• Create high-quality game-ready props, architectural assets, furniture, and environment pieces.
• Produce clean, optimized, and production-ready geometry.
• Create professional UV layouts with efficient texture usage.
• Develop realistic PBR textures and materials using industry-standard workflows.
• Follow artistic direction and technical requirements provided by Creative Directors and Lead Artists.
• Deliver assets that meet project quality standards and visual consistency requirements.
Workflow & Optimization
• Utilize modern AAA environment art workflows.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of trim sheet workflows and trim UV implementation.
• Maintain proper texel density and texture consistency across projects.
• Optimize assets for real-time applications without sacrificing visual quality.
• Understand modular asset creation and environment production methodologies.
Collaboration
• Work closely with Lead Artists, Creative Directors, and Environment Teams.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and production needs clearly.
• Accept feedback professionally and implement revisions efficiently.
• Consistently meet project deadlines and milestone requirements.
Artistic Decision Making
• Accurately interpret references and assigned concepts.
• Take initiative when artistic or technical decisions are required.
• Identify opportunities to improve asset quality and visual fidelity.
• Maintain a strong balance between artistic quality and technical efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
• Advanced proficiency in Blender.
• Strong understanding of UV Mapping and UV optimization.
• Professional experience with Substance Painter.
• Strong understanding of PBR material workflows.
• Experience creating realistic game-ready assets.
• Strong understanding of topology optimization and real-time asset production.
• Experience working with Trim Sheets and Trim UV workflows.
• Knowledge of modular asset production techniques.
• Understanding of texel density management and texture efficiency.
Artistic Skills
• Strong eye for realism, scale, proportion, and detail.
• Ability to accurately recreate real-world references.
• High attention to detail and asset quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining production standards.
Communication
• Intermediate English proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Unreal Engine.
• Experience creating realistic interior and exterior environments.
• Architectural visualization experience.
• Previous experience within game development pipelines.
• Familiarity with environment art production workflows.
