On-site role in Houston, TX — available at Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands locations (relocation assistance available) $100,000 annual compensation, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one The most powerful way to support a student who reached 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that principle unsettles you, this position is not the right fit. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates your belief in a student's ability to meet them, continue reading. Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's worth of academics in approximately two hours using adaptive technology. No traditional lectures. No physical textbooks. Your role focuses on what technology cannot replicate: developing Pre-K through 8th grade students' life skills including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You will spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops guided by structured frameworks and narrative techniques. The remaining time involves working with students individually or in small groups, examining their advancement through adaptive learning platforms via Coachbot analytics, and driving them toward achieving 100% of their weekly objectives. Students demonstrate mastery through Test2Pass evaluations, not participation-based grading. During your first year, you will oversee a student cohort and become proficient in Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivational coaching sessions, and mastery-based evaluation. Once you demonstrate the ability to hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, opportunities emerge for advancement to Lead Guide, where you mentor other Guides while remaining actively engaged with students. The most effective individuals in this position do more than transform individual lives; they influence how an entire campus functions. If you have years of experience coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and have wanted to eliminate traditional classroom instruction to concentrate on genuine developmental growth, this is your opportunity. What You Will Be Doing Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for Pre-K–8 students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and constructive feedback exchange (experiential and project-oriented) Conducting daily individual and small-group motivational coaching sessions where you analyze each student's advancement in adaptive learning platforms (utilizing Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% completion of their weekly benchmarks Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify students have genuinely mastered each life skill, beyond mere participation Adjusting your coaching approach across diverse age groups, from Pre-K students requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct communication and accountability Cultivating authentic relationships with each student so they develop sufficient trust to accept coaching through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty What You Won’t Be Doing Delivering lectures or providing traditional academic instruction (students learn core subjects through adaptive applications, not direct instruction from you) Creating lesson plans or curriculum materials from the ground up (Alpha supplies life skills frameworks; your responsibility is to activate them with energy and narrative) Handling parent communications or school administrative tasks (Campus Leads manage those functions; you remain concentrated on your students) Evaluating homework or facilitating standardized test preparation (these elements do not exist in this environment) Operating independently (you are integrated into a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability) Youth Development Specialist Key Responsibilities Guarantee that every student in your cohort enjoys school, develops essential life skills, and achieves 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology. Basic Requirements Bachelor's degree in any field 3+ years of experience working directly with Pre-K–8 students (teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership) Experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, or extracurricular goals, with at least one specific example you can describe (the goal, actions you took, and the outcome) Daily use of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) Willing to work in-person at Alpha's Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus (relocation support provided) Legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship Nice-to-have Requirements Experience in youth athletics coaching, camp leadership, or after-school program work where you were directly responsible for motivating kids to hit specific goals Track record of high personal achievement (academic honors, competitive athletics, or leadership roles that required sustained excellence) Natural storytelling ability: you can hold a room of 12-year-olds' attention for an hour without raising your voice Experience motivating disengaged or resistant students and turning them into active participants About Alpha Want to join a learning rebellion that’s transforming the traditional classroom?
