This is a unionized (L6500) permanent on-site position. The role follows a shift schedule, which may be days only or a rotating schedule of days and nights. This posting is for an existing position vacancy. The Warehouse Attendant is responsible for receiving, identifying, inspecting, recording, storing, and issuing a wide range of materials and equipment within designated warehouse areas. The role requires proficient operation of forklifts, and various material‑handling tools. It involves preparing, packaging, and transporting materials throughout plant and mine sites, as well as coordinating shipments to external vendors. The technician maintains accurate inventory records, processes documentation, and ensures proper storage conditions and security. This position supports warehouse operations by organizing storage systems, performing minor equipment servicing, and ensuring safe, efficient material flow. Additionally, in this position you may be required to: Receive, inspect, identify, code, and record incoming materials; complete receiving receipts, discrepancy reports, and inventory documentation. Operate forklifts and applicable material handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and store materials and equipment. Prepare, package, palletize, strap, and label materials; initiate truck orders, gate passes, and shipping documents for internal and external transport. Build, repair, install, and maintain storage racks, shelving, and platforms; allocate and organize warehouse storage locations. Process manual transfers, prepare shipments, and coordinate with vendors, carriers, user departments, and other warehouses for material distribution. Maintain accurate records by posting data, verifying documentation, issuing credit slips, and managing inventory changes and billing information. Weigh materials, pump fuels, measure tank levels, and perform minor equipment servicing including battery charging. Enforce warehouse security by restricting access, locking doors, completing equipment checklists, and ensuring safe operation of material handling equipment. Experience: 3 years of relative warehouse and purchasing related experience is preferred. Experience with SAP software is preferred. Experience and knowledge with software systems involved in warehousing inventories, ordering and tracking of materials in route is required Skills: Must be able to pass the required examinations, read and understand safety instructions, books of rules, instructions and regulations, timetables, bulletins, waybills, placards, and other written or printed material. Must have a good understanding of Safety and Environmental policy and procedures and ensure work is conducted accordingly. Ability to do the following: Climbing, Crouching/Squatting, Kneeling/Crawling, Trunk bending, stooping, and reaching up and out for material. Ability to handle heavy physical work.
