The ideal candidate will assist senior chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety standards. The Commis II will be responsible for handling more advanced food preparation tasks, supporting section chefs, and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control. This role is suitable for individuals with basic culinary experience who are eager to develop their skills and grow in a professional kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities Assist section chefs and senior cooks in preparing and cooking food items. Handle more advanced food preparation tasks compared to Commis III. Prepare sauces, garnishes, and mise en place as required. Cook basic dishes under supervision, following recipes and standards. Ensure proper portion control, presentation, and consistency of dishes. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen workstations and equipment. Follow food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards at all times. Store, label, and rotate ingredients properly (FIFO system). Assist in receiving, checking, and organizing kitchen stock. Support during busy service periods and help coordinate kitchen flow. Monitor ingredient quality and report issues to senior chefs. Requirements Previous experience as a Commis III or in a similar entry-level kitchen role. Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food preparation. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion control guidelines. Good knife skills and basic food handling skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure kitchen environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
