Job Description Overview Creates detailed technical drawings from engineer inputs, supports design development for substations, transmission projects, ensures standards compliance, and prepares construction, as-built drawings using tools like AutoCAD. Your role Translate engineering sketches and markups into properly documented drawings, including schematics, wiring diagrams, AC & DC single-line diagrams, arrangement drawings, structure/assembly drawings, plans and profiles, route maps, foundations, and grounding systems for substations and transmission lines, including plan and elevation views using predefined standards Assist engineers on projects by converting preliminary design drawings into detailed designs Ensure all drawings are produced in accordance with applicable drafting codes and standards Support engineers and project teams in preparing and assembling Issued for Construction (IFC) documents and drawing packages Provide information and assistance to engineers throughout the project for approvals and sign-off Review and assess field construction markups to develop as-built drawing packages Attend occasional project site visits to gather design details as required About you Drafting diploma from a recognized technical institute or equivalent work experience Minimum of 1-3 years of strong drafting experience in high-voltage transmission and distribution substation physical layout and section drawings Proficient in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office; knowledge of Inventor or Revit is an asset Knowledge of PLS CADD or similar design software is an asset Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage competing priorities and time effectively General knowledge of electrical and civil design Rewards & benefits Explore the rewards and benefits that help you thrive – at every stage of your life and your career.
