Telecommunications Engineering Specialist 📍 Winchester, VA 22601 (On-site) 💼 Full-time | Defense & Space Industry 💰 $151,000 – $180,000 (Commensurate with experience) 🚚 Relocation Assistance Available About the Role We are seeking a Senior Telecommunications Engineering Specialist to support mission-critical voice and emergency communications systems for Army Voice Modernization initiatives. This role focuses on Ribbon Federal Edge deployment, SIP interconnection engineering, and E-911/NG911 call routing support, ensuring seamless integration between VMOD systems, DISA VISP, and Army PSAP environments. This is a high-impact, on-site role in Winchester, VA, supporting defense-grade communications infrastructure. Key Responsibilities • Support deployment and integration of Ribbon Federal Edge gateways • Perform SIP interconnection engineering and policy routing support • Analyze and troubleshoot E-911 call flow issues • Support Session Border Controller (SBC) environments • Conduct deployment validation and readiness assessments • Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies • Support connectivity between Federal Edge, VISP, and Army PSAP systems • Assist in resolving gateway deployment and performance issues • Provide technical coordination for E-911 routing requirements • Track engineering issues and provide technical recommendations Required Qualifications • 10+ years of telecommunications engineering experience • 5+ years of VoIP / SIP engineering experience • Experience with: · Ribbon Communications / Sonus / Genband · Session Border Controllers (SBCs) · SIP signaling and interconnects • E-911 / PSAP integration · Strong troubleshooting experience using Wireshark · Active Secret Clearance (Required) · Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience Preferred Experience • DISA VISP familiarity • Army VMOD experience • NG911 / Public Safety Communications background • PSAP interconnection experience • Cisco certifications (CCNP / CCIE or equivalent) Work Schedule • Monday to Friday • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) • On-site position in Winchester, VA Compensation & Benefits • $151,000 – $180,000 salary range • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance • Life insurance & disability coverage • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) • 401(k) retirement plan • Paid time off, holidays, and bereavement leave Important Requirements • Must hold Active Secret Clearance • Must be able to work fully on-site in Winchester, VA • U.S. work authorization required • No visa sponsorship available
