Teach Regional WA About the Role Catholic Education Western Australia is seeking qualified teachers to join Catholic schools across regional Western Australia, including the Bunbury, Geraldton and Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS) regions. Coordinated by Catholic Education Western Australia, the program supports principals to recruit quality teachers while providing candidates with clear information, honest conversations and tailored support throughout the process. Teachers apply by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI). Applicants may nominate preferred regions or choose to be considered more broadly across Bunbury, Geraldton and GEMS. Locations Teaching opportunities may be available across: Bunbury (South West): Regional centres and surrounding country towns with strong services and community connection Geraldton (Mid West): Regional and regional‑plus communities offering relational, community‑focused teaching Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS): Inland centres and smaller communities where schools play a central role in local life Teaching Opportunities Opportunities may be available across primary and secondary settings, including: Early Childhood, Primary and Secondary teachers Specialist secondary teachers (availability varies by region and school) Appointments may include ongoing, fixed‑term, relief or short‑term roles, depending on school needs. Selection Criteria Applicants should demonstrate: Commitment to student learning, wellbeing and inclusive educational practice Sound curriculum planning, classroom practice and professional judgement Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, families and the wider school community Willingness to engage actively in school and community life in a regional context Adaptability, professionalism and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning Respect for, and engagement with, First Nations histories, cultures and perspectives, and openness to developing culturally responsive teaching approaches Support for the Catholic ethos and values in the performance of professional duties Eligibility Requirements Applicants must: Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary) Hold, or be eligible for, registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) Be based in Australia or New Zealand Have school‑based teaching experience or supervised university practicum experience To be successful, you will: -Be currently based in Australia -Have the right to work in Australia Experience solely in early learning centres or non‑school settings does not meet eligibility. Pre‑Employment Screening Appointments are subject to standard employment screening, including a Working with Children Check (WA). Salary and Benefits $91,449 – $136,563 per annum plus 12% superannuation, in accordance with Catholic Education Western Australia salary agreements and based on qualifications and experience. Additional incentives, such as regional allowances or relocation support, may be available in some locations.
