JMT’s Survey/Geomatics department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.) balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects. Position Summary: Responsible for completing the data processing phase of specific field survey projects, deed research, boundary computations, plat drafting and other related tasks. Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Knowledge of geomatics, surveying, and or reality capture Proficient with survey computations Experience with Carlson Survey and/or Open Roads Designer Performs office computations necessary for completing task assignments, including QA/QC. Develop topographic base mapping (field to Finish Processing) through conventional survey and/or LiDAR Analyzes raw data for mathematical closure and geometric accuracy Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening Valid Driver’s License Able to pass Background Check Required Experience High school diploma or equivalent Extensive knowledge of field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse adjustments, GNSS surveys, and construction stakeouts. Familiarity with third-party software for data reduction and drafting, including AutoCAD, Carlson Survey, Microstation, StarNET, and/or Trimble Business Center Preferred Experience Carlson Survey or Open roads Designer experience Knowledge of network adjustments (StarNET) Boundary experience PennDOT and PA turnpike experience Working Conditions Work is performed in a general office environment 95% of the time. It is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Fieldwork is required 5% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
