Responsibilities Deliver a high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy service based on comprehensive assessment of individual patient needs. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate physiotherapy interventions in accordance with evidence-based practice and professional standards. Maintain and continuously improve service quality through the development and implementation of best-practice operational procedures. Keep up to date with advances in physiotherapy practice, clinical skills, and healthcare technologies to ensure ongoing professional competence. Foster effective multidisciplinary collaboration and maintain positive working relationships with medical, nursing, and allied health professionals. Actively participate in and contribute to in-service education, staff training programmes, continuing professional development, and research initiatives. Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, statistics, and incident documentation in line with legal, professional, and organisational requirements. Support the review, development, and updating of Physiotherapy Cardiorespiratory and Orthopaedic service policies, protocols, and clinical guidelines. Participate in the on-call, standby, and weekend rotas as required to ensure the effective delivery of physiotherapy services. Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and punctuality while promoting the professional growth and development of colleagues through mentorship, self-learning, and training opportunities. Requirements Hold a recognised Degree in Physiotherapy or an equivalent qualification and maintain membership with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. Possess at least one year of clinical experience in an acute hospital setting, which is considered desirable. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including subjective evaluations and identification of individual patient needs and treatment goals. Demonstrate sound clinical reasoning skills to select and implement appropriate physiotherapy interventions. Recognise professional limitations and seek guidance, supervision, or consultation from senior clinicians when required. Adhere to departmental assessment frameworks, clinical guidelines, and evidence-based practice standards. Utilise relevant literature, assessment tools, and professional resources to support clinical decision-making and continuous learning. Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with departmental and organisational protocols. Record patient data, clinical outcomes, and service activity statistics accurately using electronic systems and medical records. Apply post-operative protocols appropriately, prepare timely progress reports, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
