Hybrid: 2 days Work from Home 3 days Work from Office Your Profile & DNA: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Functional Test Subject Matter Expert (SME) to take full ownership of functional testing activities within a major Ground Operations Migration Programme. This is a senior-level role requiring deep expertise in Inform GroundStar (IGS) and a strong understanding of airline ground handling operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that migrated system functionality meets operational requirements and is fit for production deployment. The role extends beyond traditional testing responsibilities and requires an individual who understands how ground handling operations function in real-world environments, enabling them to assess operational correctness, business impact, and go-live readiness. Roles & Responsibilities Functional Test Leadership Own and drive the end-to-end functional testing strategy for the Ground Operations Migration Programme. Plan, coordinate, and execute functional testing activities across multiple ground handling departments. Ensure complete test coverage for: Task generation Scheduling rules Optimizer behaviour Shift assignment processes Operational workflows Resource planning functions Business & Operational Validation Validate that migrated system functionality behaves correctly from an operational perspective. Assess business processes and workflows to ensure they align with ground handling operational requirements. Verify that system outputs support day-to-day airline and airport ground operations effectively. Defect Management & Quality Assurance Lead defect triage sessions and manage defect lifecycle activities. Perform impact assessments and determine root causes of issues. Evaluate regression risks and identify potential downstream impacts. Work closely with vendors, business stakeholders, and technical teams to drive issue resolution. Provide recommendations regarding defect prioritization and release readiness. Test Governance & Documentation Define, maintain, and continuously improve the functional test suite. Develop and manage: Test scenarios Test cases Test scripts Traceability matrices Test evidence documentation Ensure all testing artifacts meet audit and go-live quality standards. Go-Live Readiness Assess functional quality and overall operational readiness. Provide recommendations and sign-off input for production deployment decisions. Support cutover and migration activities as required. Mentoring & Quality Oversight Review and quality-assure testing deliverables produced by junior testing resources. Provide guidance, coaching, and subject matter expertise to project team members. Promote testing best practices and quality standards throughout the programme. Qualification & Experience A Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent. Inform GroundStar (IGS) Deep hands-on expertise with Inform GroundStar (IGS). Strong knowledge of: Rules Engine, Task Logic, Scheduling Functions, Optimizer Configuration and Behaviour, Workforce Planning Processes Functional Testing Proven experience leading functional testing activities for: GroundStar implementations, GroundStar upgrades, GroundStar migration programmes Extensive experience defining and executing test strategies within complex enterprise environments. Ground Operations Domain Knowledge Strong understanding of airline and airport ground handling operations. Ability to evaluate whether system behaviour is operationally correct and fit for business use. Experience working closely with operational stakeholders and business users. Defect & Risk Management Strong expertise in: Defect triage, Root cause analysis, Regression impact assessment, Release risk evaluation, Go-live readiness assessment What do we offer?
