Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description About the Materials and Structural Analysis Division The Materials and Structural Analysis Division (MSD) is one of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s most advanced technology businesses. The division brings together world-class electron microscopy, spectroscopy, software, service, and workflow expertise to help customers image, analyze, and understand materials and biological structures from the nanoscale to near-atomic resolution. Its technologies support semiconductor innovation through atomic-scale metrology, characterization, and failure analysis; advance structural biology through cryo-electron microscopy and high-resolution imaging; and help customers accelerate progress in advanced materials and other demanding applications. Across Brno, Eindhoven, Hillsboro, and a broader global footprint, the division combines deep engineering capability, advanced manufacturing, connected service, software, and commercial reach to deliver differentiated customer value at global scale. The job: As Senior Director, Information Technology, you will be a business leader who uses technology as a lever for growth, execution, and enterprise performance. You will partner with divisional leadership to simplify complexity across fragmented systems, workflows, data, and geographies, and to connect Information Technology strategy more directly to operations, manufacturing, supply chain, engineering, service, commercial execution, and product priorities. This is a highly visible leadership role with enterprise-level impact. You will help shape how the division plans, builds, ships, installs, services, and digitally enables some of the world’s most sophisticated scientific instruments. By aligning Information Technology investments to business priorities and measurable outcomes, you will help accelerate growth, improve productivity, strengthen margins, and enhance customer experience. For the right leader, the breadth of the role offers meaningful runway toward broader enterprise leadership over time. This role is fully site-based (5 days pw) at either our Brno, Czechia, or Eindhoven, the Netherlands sites. We have a strong preference for you to be based in Brno if possible. We are also open to providing full visa sponsorship and relocation support to the right candidate, however, this is only available if relocating to Brno. Regular international travel will be required – up to 35% of working time – including overnight stays. We look forward to receiving your application in English. What will you do? Serve as a strategic partner to the divisional leadership team, translating business priorities into an integrated Information Technology strategy, multi-year roadmap, governance model, and delivery agenda with clear business value. Lead a global Information Technology organization that is deeply connected to manufacturing, supply chain, service, commercial, engineering, and research and development leaders, ensuring technology priorities are grounded in business reality, operational need, and customer impact. Simplify fragmented business processes, data flows, and enterprise architectures across sites and functions, turning complexity into scalable platforms that improve speed, resilience, decision quality, and profitable growth. Modernize the division’s core enterprise environment, including enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, planning, service, quality, collaboration, and data and analytics capabilities. Drive end-to-end process improvement across plan-to-produce, source-to-pay, quote-to-cash, install-to-service, and data-to-decision workflows, with a strong focus on productivity, margin expansion, cost discipline, working capital performance, responsiveness, and customer experience. Partner closely with operations, manufacturing, and supply chain leaders to improve planning, material flow, execution, and operational leverage in a complex global capital equipment environment. Partner with engineering, service, and product leaders to ensure digital and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, connected workflows, automation, and data are applied where they strengthen product differentiation, service effectiveness, installed base value, and long-term business performance. Strengthen the division’s data foundation by improving integration, master data, information architecture, reporting consistency, and access to trusted insights across functions, regions, and leadership levels. Enable practical, high-value automation and AI by improving process discipline, workflow design, data quality, and governance, with a clear focus on adoption and measurable business outcomes. Build the digital foundation required to support global scale, including site growth, operational harmonization, and stronger performance across Brno, Eindhoven, Hillsboro, and the broader divisional footprint. Lead with strong operating rigor across portfolio management, investment prioritization, budgeting, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, infrastructure, supplier management, talent, and succession planning, ensuring resources are aligned to value creation and resilient execution. Who we are looking for: Significant senior leadership experience in enterprise Information Technology within a complex global business within the semi-conductor industry (essential). Demonstrated success using Information Technology as a lever for business performance, with the judgment and financial acumen to align investments to growth, productivity, profitability, resilience, risk management, and customer outcomes. Proven ability to simplify highly complex, fragmented environments and translate technical challenges into clear, actionable business priorities and executable roadmaps for senior leaders. Strong track record leading enterprise platform modernization while protecting business continuity and improving operating performance across multiple functions and geographies. Deep experience across several of the following domains: enterprise resource planning, manufacturing, supply chain, service, commercial systems, enterprise integration, data and analytics, infrastructure, automation, and digital workplace technologies. Credibility with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, service, quality, and commercial leaders, with a collaborative style and the ability to influence effectively in a highly matrixed environment. Experience leading global teams and large-scale change across Europe, the United States, and Asia, with the executive presence to operate effectively across cultures, sites, and stakeholder groups. Experience in advanced manufacturing or high-value capital equipment environments where product complexity, installed base performance, quality, and service execution are critical to business success. Practical experience enabling automation and artificial intelligence in production-grade environments, built on trusted data, disciplined processes, and measurable adoption. Strong communication, leadership, and talent-building capabilities, including experience developing teams, leading through change, and creating clarity and accountability at scale. An advanced business degree, such as a Master of Business Administration, or equivalent business leadership experience, is preferred.
