About The Role Here at Whitehaven Coal safety is our number one priority and this will be integral in your daily duties. Reporting to the Group Superintendent for Biodiversity, this role will provide direct supervision and surveillance of Whitehaven Coal Biodiversity Management Programs. These programs are being implemented directly or through contractors in accordance with the company’s approval and other regulatory requirements. In this role you will be supporting the Group Superintendent in planning, designing, coordinating and executing safely Whitehaven Coal’s Biodiversity Management Programs. You will be able to coordinate activities in the field or from the office as required as well as engaging with key stakeholders throughout the business. What You'll do Maintain awareness of relevant environmental and safety legislation and company policies as well as comply with health and safety management systems and plans. Knowledge of NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 is needed. Assist with the preparation and submission of relevant environmental and biodiversity related approval/regulatory documentation in a timely manner, to ensure statutory compliance and continuity of operations. Maintain and improve the environmental and biodiversity related performance of company owned land including the provision of advice and assistance to operations as required. The implementation of environmental management plans on Biodiversity Offset properties and other areas that cover your remit Undertake environmental and biodiversity related management programs to meet approval and other regulatory conditions and commitments and in accordance with relevant health and safety or contractual requirements. Coordinate environmental and biodiversity related monitoring activities including collating field monitoring data and/or inspections; updating results/outputs to databases, analysis/investigating and managing any issues and providing feedback to management. Assist with the development and maintenance of environmental management plans.
