About this role

NOW HIRING | Senior Superintendent – Large-Scale Ground-Up Construction | Chicago, IL

Our client is a nationally recognized general contractor with over six decades of execution and an established presence across major U.S. markets. With a strong and rapidly growing footprint in Chicago, they are seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field operations on landmark, ground-up construction projects in the Chicago area.

This is a high-visibility, senior-level role reporting directly to the Project Executive. You will own the site — managing trades, enforcing safety, driving schedule, and serving as the face of field leadership on projects of significant scope and complexity.

The ideal candidate leads with humility, executes with hunger, and brings the technical self-awareness that separates great superintendents from good ones.

COMPENSATION

• Base Salary: $145,000 – $160,000

• Annual Bonus: ~8–10%

• Car Allowance: $815/month

• Relocation assistance available — inquire for details

PROJECT TYPES YOU'LL SUPPORT

• Large-scale mixed-use and headquarters campuses

• K–12 and higher education facilities (suburban and charter)

• Industrial, healthcare, and laboratory builds

• Multi-structure developments including office, residential high-rise, parking, and amenity spaces

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Serve as the on-site leader for all field operations on ground-up projects

• Lead, coordinate, and hold accountable all trades and subcontractors

• Conduct contractor meetings and enforce safety protocols across all trades

• Oversee Time & Materials (T&M) tracking and reporting

• Drive schedule adherence using industry-standard scheduling tools

• Support the Project Executive with planning, reporting, and client communication

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management — or equivalent certifications with strong vertical build experience

• 7+ years leading projects valued at $25M+

• Demonstrated leadership of trades and subcontractors on complex projects

• OSHA 30-hour certification

• Proficiency with scheduling software and construction management technology

• Verifiable project list required with application (type, title, and value)

• Strong work history with consistent job tenure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years with a vertical construction focus

• Safety Trained Supervisor of Construction (STS-C) certification

• Proven safety track record across large, multi-trade job sites

Qualified candidates are encouraged to reach out directly with a resume and project list. The client will be disclosed to qualified, interested candidates under confidentiality.
