About us: Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed regional referral hospital delivering a comprehensive range of specialist medical and surgical services to Central Queensland. Our Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services (GARS) operates from a purpose-built 16-bed facility, providing inpatient, ambulatory and outreach care through a multidisciplinary team approach. The Rehabilitation Physician works collaboratively with clinical leaders, including the Nurse Unit Manager and Program Coordinator, to deliver high-quality rehabilitation and geriatric care. About the role: Provide expert opinion on patients with medical issues in Emergency Department when required and participate actively in-patient flow and bed capacity management. Provide clinical supervision for Registrars/Principal House Officers, junior and senior house officers. Provide quality leadership based on evidenced-based practices and by demonstrating and enabling adequate communication to all stakeholders along the patient's continuum of care. Provide high level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including the capacity to consult, negotiate and resolve conflict. Provide education on their specialist area through training seminars and tutorials to clinical staff. About you: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia is mandatory. Fellowship of the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (FAFRM) and eligible for registration as a Specialist with the Medical Board of Australia in Rehabilitation Medicine. Applicants with equivalent overseas qualifications assessed as substantially comparable by the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine may also be considered. Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program with the appropriate bodies. To be appointed permanently, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or have a visa permitting you to work permanently in Australia. What we offer: Total remuneration value of up to $550,085 p.a. is comprised of: A salary rate between $216,643 - $251,642 p.a. (L18 – L24) A salary rate between $259,072 - $274,678 p.a.
