About this role
My client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Microsoft Office Developer to join our team. This role is responsible for the design, development, customization, enhancement, and support of business-critical solutions built across the Microsoft Office technology stack.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience developing and maintaining solutions using Microsoft Excel (VBA), SharePoint On-Premises, Microsoft Access, and related Microsoft Office applications. You will work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, designers, and backend development teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support trading and business operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, customize, and maintain solutions across Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint On-Premises, and Access.
- Develop and support VBA-based applications, Excel macros, add-ins, and process automation solutions.
- Maintain and enhance existing Microsoft Office-based business applications and provide ongoing production support.
- Integrate and manage data flows between Office applications and enterprise systems, including:
- Microsoft SQL Server
- Oracle Databases
- SharePoint On-Premises
- XML files
- Microsoft Word documents
- Microsoft Outlook
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and scripts.
- Diagnose and resolve defects within custom-built Microsoft Office solutions.
- Implement application enhancements, releases, and change requests in collaboration with business stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions comply with IT governance standards, controls, and Spreadsheet Management Policies.
- Participate in incident management, change management, and transition activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, support materials, and operational procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, software quality, security, and development best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Extensive experience with:
- VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)
- Microsoft Excel and Excel Macros
- Microsoft Access
- SharePoint On-Premises
- Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Strong SQL development skills and experience working with complex database structures.
- Experience integrating Microsoft Office applications with enterprise databases and external systems.
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
- Strong understanding of secure software design principles and software security best practices.
- Experience supporting production systems and managing incidents, changes, and releases.

Based in Dublin. Hybrid (3 days onsite per week). Candidates must be eligible to work in Ireland/EU.
