About This Opportunity The Senior Engagement Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing the ATSIS Unit’s commitment to increasing the recruitment, retention and success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at UQ. In this impactful role, you will inspire the next generation by promoting UQ as a university of choice, delivering engaging outreach programs and working closely with schools, communities and prospective students. The successful candidate will be required to provide evidence to confirm that they are an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Strong cultural capability and the ability to work respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, communities and stakeholders. Knowledge of secondary and tertiary education pathways and factors impacting Indigenous student participation and success. Experience delivering programs, events or engagement activities that support student outcomes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and engage with students, schools, parents and community groups. Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate activities successfully. A current and unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required.
