About this role
OneSparQ is hiring an Electrical Engineer / Electrical Controls Engineer for a military and defense manufacturer located in the greater Cleveland area. This is an on-site role focused on electrical cabinet, control enclosure, and power enclosure design for rugged electro-mechanical products used in demanding field environments.

Required Skills:
- 3+ years of electrical engineering, controls engineering, or electrical systems design experience
- Experience designing electrical control cabinets, control panels, or industrial electrical enclosures
- Experience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, and electrical documentation
- Familiarity with power and control components such as VFDs, contactors, relays, fuses, transformers, terminal blocks, wiring, and connectors
- Experience with electrical component selection and panel wiring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- U.S. citizenship
Additional Skills: (not required)
- AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, or SolidWorks Electrical experience
- Experience with 24VDC control systems and/or 208VAC power systems
- PLC knowledge
- Experience with HVAC, thermal systems, industrial equipment, or electro-mechanical products
- Experience with PCBAs or embedded electronics
- SAP, ERP, PDM, or PLM experience
- Defense, military, manufacturing, or ruggedized product experience
Responsibilities:
- Design electrical control cabinets, power enclosures, and related electrical systems
- Select electrical components including VFDs, contactors, relays, fuses, transformers, wiring, terminal blocks, and related hardware
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, wire lists, harness documentation, BOMs, and design records
- Work with mechanical engineering and design teams on enclosure layouts, wire routing, packaging, and manufacturability
- Support product development from concept through prototype, testing, troubleshooting, and production
- Help ensure designs meet quality, safety, cost, manufacturability, and field-serviceability requirements
