Location: Manassas, VA (100% Onsite) Training Requirement: 3–6 months in Japan (initial training) Openings: 1 Employment Type: Full-time, Hourly ( Overtime Eligible ) Compensation: NA Relocation Assistance: Limited Visa Sponsorship Eligibility: No About This Opportunity Community Talent Partners is seeking candidates on behalf of a partner for a Semiconductor Field Service Technician III role supporting advanced thin-film deposition (PVD) equipment and related robotics in a cleanroom environment. You’ll work hands-on with high-vacuum systems performing installs, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. Position Overview Provide on-site and on-call technical support for multi-chamber PVD tools, ensuring maximum uptime and performance. Responsibilities include equipment calibration, software loads, field documentation, parts management, and direct customer interaction. Key Responsibilities Monitor, inspect, set up, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor PVD process equipment to minimize downtime. Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues; escalate complex problems as needed. Collect and share diagnostic data with engineering teams; install and track control software revisions. Participate in new tool installations at customer sites; maintain accurate field service reports. Manage spare/consumable inventory to support PMs and repairs. Train and assist customer engineering staff; communicate effectively with U.S. and overseas teams. Comply with customer site protocols and safety requirements. Required Qualifications HS diploma/GED (or equivalent experience) and 2–4 years related field service experience. Experience with vacuum technology/PVD equipment in semiconductor environments. Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings and troubleshoot methodically. Valid driver’s license; ability to lift ~50 lbs; flexibility for off-shift/on-call work. Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally including 3–6 months in Japan for initial training . Preferred Qualifications Experience with multi-chamber cluster systems and robotics . Familiarity with PLC and related software applications. Strong analytical/problem-solving skills with clear documentation habits. Bilingual (Japanese/English) helpful but not required. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Primary work in a cleanroom (full gowning/PPE); frequent standing/walking; occasional kneeling/crouching/ladder use. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, chemicals, UV/lasers, and enclosed spaces; strict adherence to safety. Time-sensitive situations requiring rapid troubleshooting and resolution. Benefits Hourly role with overtime eligibility. Limited relocation assistance may be available.
