We are looking for a Research Scientist to join the team and work on the APECS project under the CHIPS JU initiative. Job Duties The job duties will be the following: Develop thin-film solid-state micro-batteries for on-chip integration. Operate a thin-film battery deposition system comprising several vacuum chambers for sputtering and thermal evaporation, atomic layer deposition, and glove boxes. Optimise battery performance. Electrochemical characterisation of thin-film batteries. Materials’ characterisation (e.g., XRD, SEM, Raman). Mandatory Qualifications Education PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent field. Experience and Technical Skills Experience in thin-film deposition, vacuum equipment, sputtering and/or evaporation. Experience in battery fabrication. Experience in materials characterisation for thin films. Experience in characterisation of thin-film batteries and performance optimisation. Other Valued Skills Experience in funding acquisition and research publications. Personal Skills “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines.
