POSITION SUMMARY In keeping with the Mission Statement of the hospital and the nursing department, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for individual patients and families. The nurse assigned to this position is required to function independently and as a member of the Endocrinology Team in order to provide family focussed and evidence-based nursing care. DUTIES INCLUDE: 1. Deal compassionately with children, youth and their families followed by the Division of Endocrinology. These may include children and youth with bone fragility, short stature, skeletal dysplasia, a variety of other acute and chronic bone and endocrine conditions. 2. Identify real and potential problems and respond to emergencies by intervening directly or referring to other health care professionals. 3. Telephone teaching and counselling of families. 4. Extensive teaching of families and other health care professionals. 5. Participation in all clinic activities. 6. Participation in research. 7. Continuous learning to develop expertise in the specialty. The successful candidate will be a calm but motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Définir les problèmes réels et potentiels et intervenir en cas d’urgence, soit directement, soit en envoyant les patients à d’autres professionnels de la santé. 3.
