Job Description At Sumara Technology, we rely on a dynamic team of engineers to solve the many challenges and puzzles of our rapidly evolving technical stack. Weβre seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer who is ready to ensure the reliability and robustness of our core payment products. The ideal candidate has a strong balance of manual testing skills to uncover complex edge cases and automation skills to ensure scalability. The QA Engineer will join a focused squad responsible for a critical payment product, ensuring that every deposit and withdrawal is processed with absolute precision and security. Requirements 3+ years of professional experience in software quality assurance. Strong proficiency in both manual and automated testing methodologies. Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar). Experience testing RESTful APIs using tools like Postman or programmatic clients. Basic knowledge of Java and Spring Boot to effectively collaborate with the backend team. Solid understanding of SQL databases to verify data integrity during tests. Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and agile development methodologies. A "break-the-system" mindset with a keen eye for detail, especially regarding numerical accuracy and financial data. Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for payment processing systems. Perform rigorous manual testing to identify issues in complex business logic and edge cases. Develop and maintain automated test scripts for functional and regression testing. Validate backend services and APIs to ensure accurate transaction processing. Identify, record, and track bugs thoroughly, working closely with developers to verify fixes. Champion QA best practices, including shifting testing left and maintaining high code quality standards. Participate in release planning and provide sign-off on product releases.
