Job Description Job Title: Program Manager – CMC Industrialization (Production Facilities & Operational Readiness Working Pattern: Onsite 9/80 Working location: Indianapolis, IN Rolls-Royce is advancing Ceramic Matrix Composite (CMC) technologies to enable next-generation aerospace products. The Program Manager – CMC Industrialization will play a critical role in establishing and maturing CMC production capabilities at Rolls-Royce’s Indianapolis, Indiana and Cypress, California sites. As part of the Industrialization Production Facilities and Operational Readiness team , this role focuses on ensuring facilities, equipment, processes, people, and supply chains are fully prepared to support safe, compliant, and scalable CMC production. You will lead complex, site-spanning programs that transition CMC technologies from development into sustained industrial operations. What you will be doing: Lead industrialization and operational readiness programs supporting CMC production at Indianapolis and Cypress, CA facilities. Drive site readiness across facilities, equipment, tooling, staffing, training, and production systems. Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning manufacturing, engineering, quality, HSE, supply chain, IT, and facilities Plan and deliver production ramp-up activities, including recruitment and training Manage capital investment programs Ensure operational processes meet aerospace quality, safety, and regulatory requirements Identify, manage, and mitigate risks associated with first-of-kind CMC manufacturing operations Provide clear program governance, reporting, and escalation to senior leadership Support supplier industrialization and material availability to enable uninterrupted site operations Capture lessons learned and drive standardization across CMC production facilities Travel approximately 25% Who we’re looking for: At Rolls-Royce we put safety first, do the right thing, keep it simple and make a difference. Basic Requirements: An Associate’s degree with 7+ years of related experience OR A Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience OR A master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience OR JD/Ph.D. In lieu of a degree, 9+ years of related experience In order to qualify for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident. Preferred: Experience with Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) or other advanced/high-temperature materials Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing quality systems and certification requirements Experience with capital projects, equipment qualification, and factory layout development Experience with major infrastructure programs and production start-ups Knowledge of Process Safety Management and how to implement Familiarity with manufacturing readiness levels (MRLs) and gated development frameworks Other Skills & Experience: Essential: Proven program management experience in manufacturing, industrialization, or operations readiness Strong understanding of production facilities start-up, commissioning, and manufacturing scale-up Experience leading cross-site or multi-facility programs Ability to manage ambiguity and technical risk in novel or first-of-kind manufacturing environments Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Strong organizational and communication skills, demonstrated through effective program delivery Formal program or project management qualification Leadership Behaviors: Integrates safety considerations into planning, decision-making, and execution Strong delivery focus with attention to operational detail Collaborative, inclusive leadership across diverse site teams Systems-level thinking with an end-to-end factory mindset Proactive risk management and continuous improvement orientation We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits.
