As a Field Service Plant Mechanic , you’ll be on the front line supporting our customers—responding to breakdowns, performing diagnostics, and delivering high-quality repairs on Caterpillar equipment in the field. No two days are the same. Service ute, laptop + phone and long-term work with consistent hours. Rates are reflective of experience, skills and technical capability. What You’ll Do Diagnose, service and repair CAT mobile plant equipment in the field. Deliver safe, high‑quality work with minimal downtime for customers. Work independently across multiple customer sites. Represent WesTrac with strong technical capability and customer service. What you’ll bring Cert III Mobile Plant Technology (or equivalent trade). Experience with mining or heavy earthmoving equipment (CAT highly regarded). Strong diagnostics and repair capability. OEM experience, SIS/ET exposure (highly regarded). Ability to work autonomously in the field. Current driver’s licence.
