Description Penobscot Pediatrics is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatrician to join our highly respected and well-established pediatric team in Bangor, Maine. This is an exceptional opportunity to practice comprehensive, relationship-based pediatric medicine within a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) committed to integrated, patient-centered care. About Penobscot Pediatrics Penobscot Pediatrics is one of Maine’s leading pediatric groups and the state’s largest comprehensive pediatric practice. For more than 30 years, our team has provided high-quality pediatric care to families throughout the Greater Bangor region. Our providers include Board-Certified Pediatricians, Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Associates, and Pediatric Behavioral Health professionals offering a broad range of services including: Preventive and wellness care Newborn through adolescent medicine Early childhood developmental screenings Immunizations and vaccinations Chronic disease management Behavioral and mental health integration Nutrition counseling and patient education Sports, school, and camp physicals Pediatric dental services through PCHC Dental Center Speech therapy and audiology services through the Warren Center for Speech and Hearing Position Summary The Pediatrician provides high-quality primary care services for infants, children, and adolescents within an integrated healthcare environment. Responsibilities include diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, patient and family education, chronic disease management, and collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams to support the physical, developmental, and emotional health of pediatric patients. Providers work closely with nurses, behavioral health clinicians, social workers, therapists, specialists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, compassionate care that improves patient outcomes and family satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive outpatient pediatric care from birth through adolescence Diagnose and treat acute and chronic pediatric conditions Perform preventive health screenings, well-child visits, and developmental assessments Administer and monitor immunizations in accordance with current guidelines Collaborate with integrated behavioral health and specialty care teams Educate patients and families regarding health, nutrition, disease prevention, and treatment plans Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records documentation Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer collaboration Supervise and collaborate with advanced practice providers Support medical student and healthcare learner education opportunities Participate in community outreach and organizational initiatives Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Maine Valid DEA certification Ability to obtain hospital privileges and participate with payer credentialing Current or eligible Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Commitment to patient-centered, team-based pediatric care Why Join PCHC?
