Job Summary Provide interpretation and translation support for training, interviews, meetings, conferences, and conversations. Develop skills in analysis, collection, document review and exploitation while enhancing linguistic capabilities. Employment Type = Full time, Non-Exempt Paid Time Off Multiple Locations Relocation provided Housing Provided Applicants must provide proof of perminant residency (Green Card), U.S. citizenship or work authorization. Responsibilities (Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.) Provide linguistic support for company and military operations in assigned area of responsibility and interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences Facilitate effective communications between speakers of different languages Interpret and translate written and spoken communications Research and analyze foreign language documents for key information Transcribe and analyze verbal communications Identify and extract information components that meet military information requirement list criteria; provide input to reports May get assigned different locations to help develop skills and abilities of local nationals Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge & Skills Excellent command of English, Dari, and Pashto Strong verbal and written American English skills (grammar, vocabulary, idioms, and spelling) Ability to translate both general and highly technical materials Thorough knowledge of cultural, economic, geopolitical, and military issues of Middle East and Arab speaking countries within that region Ability to operate standard and specialized office automation equipment to process foreign language material JOB REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements/Working Environment Recurring physical exertion such as extensive walking, bending, stooping, reaching, crawling, and similar activities Living and working conditions at assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions
