An opportunity has arisen for an experienced MEP Commercial Lead to join a leading European Principal Contractor delivering a hyperscale data centre project in Finland for one of the world’s most recognised technology companies.

This is a high-profile, technically challenging scheme within the mission critical sector, offering the chance to play a key commercial leadership role from early pre-construction through to on-site delivery.

The position will initially be based within the company’s England office until November, before mobilising to Lohja, Finland for the delivery phase of the project.

This contractor has built a strong reputation across Europe for delivering complex mission critical and industrial projects, whilst maintaining a more agile, people-focused culture than many of the larger Tier 1 businesses. They are known for giving individuals genuine responsibility, exposure to major international projects, and long-term progression opportunities within a growing European operation.

Key responsibilities:

• Commercial leadership of the MEP package from pre-construction through delivery
• Managing procurement strategy and subcontractor commercial management
• Cost reporting, forecasting and financial control
• Contract administration and risk management
• Supporting project leadership with commercial strategy and delivery
• Managing and mentoring commercial team members where required
• Liaising with client, consultants and subcontract supply chain throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements:

• Strong MEP commercial experience within principal contracting or specialist MEP contracting
• Previous data centre, mission critical or major infrastructure project experience preferred
• Experience managing large-value MEP packages
• Strong contractual and financial management capability
• Comfortable working across both pre-construction and delivery phases
• Open to European rotation-based work
