Fiskars Manager, Product Engineering OUR ROLE We are looking for an experienced Manager, Product Engineering to join Fiskars R&D organization. This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on product design professional who is ready to step into a people leadership role or further build on early leadership experience. You will combine technical contribution with team leadership, guiding a team while actively contributing to product improvements, customization and lifecycle engineering. Your mission? To ensure product excellence and deliver value through customization, quality improvements, cost optimization and advanced product data management. You will lead initiatives that keep our current product portfolio competitive and efficient, while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. This position is based in Espoo, Finland, and reports to our Director, R&D. The role is full-time and hybrid. Candidates based in the EU who are eligible to work in the EU are welcome to apply, relocation support to Finland will be provided where needed. WHAT YOU’LL DO AT FISKARS Responsibilities: Lead and develop Product engineering team, acting as a hands-on people manager and technical lead. Drive product improvement, customization and lifecycle engineering projects and ensure timely delivery in alignment with business needs. Maintain and enhance existing products by implementing design updates, compliance changes, and cost optimizations. Take ownership of the engineering change process throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring controlled, efficient and well-documented implementation of changes. Support and develop product data management practices, tools and governance to improve efficiency and compliance. Collaborate with sourcing, suppliers, and cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility and cost efficiency. Ensure effective execution of engineering activities aligned with business priorities. WHO YOU ARE Experience: MSc/BSc degree in Engineering or related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience in product development, preferably in consumer products. Hands-on mindset, comfortable combining leadership with technical contribution. Previous experience in team leadership or strong motivation to grow into a people manager role. Experience working with product lifecycle improvements, customization or cost optimization projects. Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred). Good understanding of PDM/PLM systems, product data governance, and lifecycle management. Understanding of electronics or electromechanical products is considered an advantage.
